What I've been listening to: French Baroque This album sat on the back burner for a long time, but I listened to it again when I need a good mix of choral and orchestral pieces. It's pretty relaxing :).
What I've been playing: Well, next week I get my music for the Spring Concerto Competition, and so that has me pretty excited. It's a super hard piece, but I am thankful I get to start working on it over a month before the competition this year! Last year I got my music just a month before, and I don't think I've ever learned something so fast and well before.
What have you all been up to?
What a cutie. He looks soft enough to pet right here and now. Glad you are enjoying your music.
ReplyDeleteLove you.
He is SO soft! And right now he is laying next to me! :)
DeleteHe looks like a very cute cord chomper.
ReplyDeleteRegardless of what your stats say.
I'm glad you take the time to show us what you're working on, and what you're listening to.
Out of curiosity, what were you debating to change them to?
Also, the spring concerto competition, is that the event listed for April 12,on the smsu music events page?
Yes, he is. Which can be hard when he's being blatantly being naughty.
DeleteThank you! I'm afraid I was pretty vague about which piece I'll be competing with.....
I was debating switching to either favorite hymns (still music related!) or everyday sorts of posts without a theme, since Friday has a theme already, and I'm trying to only post twice a week. Any suggestions?
The Spring 2018 schedule is not posted yet, so there is no fixed date for the competition. I'm afraid the April 12th student recital is long gone! When the 2018 schedule is posted it will say "_th annual student concerto competition." I can't remember if it's fifth or sixth this year... that's why there's a _.
Gah, I missed a typo in that first section!
DeleteYou could try changing it every week, first a music post, then a random post, then a favorite hymns post, etc.... Hopefully that helps.
ReplyDeleteWait, blogspot won't let you fix typos?
Yes, that's a good idea! I might just do that!
DeleteI can fix typos everywhere except comments. Weird, right?
Indeed! (I like that word!)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how I ended up commenting as a "nameless one"
but I think it had something to do with the "irksome computer".
I figured it was you by the writing style. The only other regular commenter who posts as Anonymous is my Grandma, and your writing styles are very different.
